Inclusive Resilient Cities Committee

This committee supports the “Sustainable Development Goal number 11: Sustainable cities and communities, make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable”.

For UMAR to act as a platform around the Mediterranean countries:
• To raise awareness on how architects can cooperate with local authorities and be involved in the preparation of facilities and other necessary infrastructure to welcome and integrate displaced people in cities along the Mediterranean basin.
• To promote architects from around the Mediterranean to contribute to the reconstruction after a natural disaster or after a conflict.
• To support practicing architects, refugee and migrant architects from the areas affected by large natural or man-made disasters (including the war scenario), to pursue job opportunities, training, education and actively work in preserving their original design communities while displaced.
